Exciting things are happening with Fairfield Women!

Our goal is to have everything up and running by October 1st!

We’re also launching a Fairfield Women Facebook page! This will allow another great way to connect, stay informed, and share Fairfield Women with our community and the public.

Luncheon Price Update
After many years of providing us with a delicious luncheon each month, Two Women in a Kitchen finds it necessary to increase their price. Beginning with our September meeting, the cost of lunch will be $25 per person. After checking with other caterers in the area, we feel that Two Women in a Kitchen continues to offer us the best value and selection, and we are pleased to continue working with them.

General Meeting and Program

11 AM- Social time & check-in; 11:30AM-Business Meeting 12:00PM-Lunch

Catered lunch is $25 payable by cash, check made out to Fairfield Women, or credit card (with fee). Lunch reservations for general meetings must be made 9 days in advance, with dates and deadlines listed monthly in the directory. If you miss the RSVP deadline, you can attend the program, but lunch will not be provided. If you have made a reservation and cannot come, payment is still required. Members may transfer lunch reservations among themselves, but the club does not facilitate this. Members and guests are welcome to return to the buffet line for “seconds” after everyone has eaten, but packaging leftovers or “to go” meals is outside the scope of our agreement with the caterers. We appreciate their services and aim to keep costs reasonable and fair. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Greeters for the September meeting will be Jennifer Botter and Wendy Carpenter. Invocation will be Karen Popen.

Lunch menu:
Fresh fall salad, slow-roasted pork, mashed potatoes with gravy, buttered corn, rolls and cake for dessert.

Program:
Our Furry Little Friends. Tina Barret discusses the plan for the Fairfield Furfield Project, followed by Animal Control Officer Alexa Jones and Brittany May from Crazy Cats Animal Rescue.

Out-to-Lunch Bunch

The September Out-to-Lunch will be Thursday, September 24, 11:30 AM, at Tano Bistro, 150 Riverfront Plaza, Hamilton 45011. Reservations and changes are due by Monday, September 21, to Pat Charles at 513-615-9052 or pat.charles@gmail.com.

Book Club

Book Club will begin on September 17, 2026, at 7 PM in the Senior Lounge at the Fairfield Community Arts Center. The first book will be The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick. Four dissatisfied sixties-era housewives form a book club turned sisterhood that will hold fast amid the turmoil of a rapidly changing world and alter the course of each of their lives. The discussion will led by Pat Deis-Gleason.

Communication Binders

Communication binders are available at each table during our monthly general meetings. They contain sign-up sheets for Out-to-Lunch, volunteer opportunities, Good Cheer, and other important information. If your committee would like to include a document in the binders, please provide Linda Coates with 12 copies. Each copy must be three-holed punched along the left side. You may drop off the copies before the meeting day at Linda’s home at 2366 Royal Manor. Or, bring them on the day of the meeting before 11:00 AM and place them on the counter behind the check-in table. After the meeting, please retrieve your documents from the counter behind the check-in table. If you cannot collect them, please make arrangements to pick them up from Linda.

Fall Golf

Our New Fairfield Women Website… Will Be Better Than Ever!

https://FairfieldWomen.org is having a redesign that will make it better and easier to use and have some updates that will improve the look and efficiency. We are looking for one or two FFW members who are interested in learning how to manage a section of the website, so we have more people who know how to update content on the site. If you are interested, before the site is ready to be launched by the end of September, you will work one-on-one to learn what you need to know. Just contact Joan Hume-Cohen at joanhumecohen@gmail.com or Wendy Carpenter at boilerfan87@gmail.com.

Greetings from Your Charity Auction Committee – We had our first meeting at the end of August, and with some new ideas and a few changes here and there, we are excited about a fun and successful event on Saturday, December 5th. At the October meeting, we will be collecting items for the Auction, but we want to give you a “Heads Up” so you can keep an eye out for items that are the perfect item for the Auction. Then in October, bring your new items (not used) for the Silent Auction Baskets and be sure to include: the value of the item(s) or the name if donated by a business. If you would like to donate Gift Cards, a special box will be available. (You don’t have to write the amount if it is included on the card.) If you have any questions about what works best, contact Debbie Estabrook at debestabrook@gmail.com.

We really appreciate it when you and/or your friends go together to complete a “Themed Basket.” You can drop it off with Debbie at 5760 David Place in Fairfield, or she can meet you in the parking lot after a meeting. Be sure to write the names of the items and the total value so we don’t have to unpack the basket. Or, our team can also put the items together for you. If you helped contact businesses last year, Debbie will give the letter of request to you at the September meeting. And for the ever-popular Ornament Landing, donations of new items valued between $5 and $10 are perfect! You can bring them to the October meeting, or you can drop items off with Wendy at 8 Marcel Court or Joan at 247 Kings Ridge Square.

Over the past years, your donations and items and help have contributed to making the Charity Auction a great success, and we look forward to another great Auction this year. Thank You, Charity Auction Co-Chairs, Joan Hume-Cohen and Wendy Carpenter.
